well said mate and i don't think anybody questions what you and this site does. you do some fantastic stuff. helping needy hammers as well as letting myself and others put a few bits up, for the very same cause. long may it continue. great work.

If people ask for handlouts on this site then post updates on this site, not expect people to go trawling over the internet trying to find out what was going on. It's not bloody difficult.

A lot of flak flying around, we need to know the facts, the post I put up came directly from the just giving site so I must agree it does look suspicious saying they had been freed without fines and then suddenly there was a cost, but as with anything, there are really simple ways to sort this out, there is obviously an incoming amount from the site and after fees there will be a figure and then anything outgoing needs to be accounted for, it's not rocket science.

The real disappointment is it can have a negative and cynical effect on other fund raising like the WHO fund.
I am really proud of what we do in our fund, in every way whether small or large it really does help and I hope nobody is put off for future donations and yes I have a spreadsheet accounting for every incoming and outgoing transaction of the WHO fund if anybody wants to see it

Appreciate your concern but frankly it was a round of drinks, means fuck all, a score not a ‘score’
And I’ll carry on supporting WH in apparent need, because that was the way I was brought up, the odd wrongun won’t stop me and down the line they will answer if they have pulled a stroke
So calm down and enjoy the game

“However, there have been plenty of updates across various social media platforms.”

And that is exactly where I got my info from.

“Alternatively, if you wanted to have an update on the situation people could have simply asked”

I did. Got zero response.

Crassus is spot on about your PR. It’s massively suspect that it all went very quiet, and despite it being plastered everywhere they were on their way home with ZERO mention of them taking the guilty pleasure/fine route, all of a sudden today, after more serious questions were asked, the only post on the Just Giving page to ever be deleted suddenly goes and a new one pops up saying they paid the fine and that’s what the money is still for.

Nah, don’t buy it at all - especially after what their mates were saying on Saturday

Crassus, people seem to have a lot to say for themselves here so forgive me for trying to defend people when the finger gets pointed with quite a big claim. If people decide to throw these kinds of claims around are we expected to sit here and just take them on the chin? Especially when some people quite clearly don't have all the information.

I am not running the Just Giving nor am I Joe Braden either. However, there have been plenty of updates across various social media platforms. Alternatively, if you wanted to have an update on the situation people could have simply asked. I did not post various updates on here because they could be found elsewhere. Also, as you can see I am not a particularly frequent poster on here and pop on and off from time to time to see what's going on.

The donations to the group and their families are all greatly appreciated and have gone a long way in helping the situation the boys have found themselves in. As far as I am aware the page was due to be taken down over the course of the next few days for any last minute donations.

There is no need to fall into an argument over the situation as we are where we are and thankful that the boys are almost all home safe and sound.

Again, we grateful for the support of everyone who has donated to close friends. Any questions send them over and I'll answer as best I can

You can wind your neck in mate, no need to appear on here out of the blue all fucking bouncy

Plenty of us on here answered Epsom's call and passed the word on - and I for one don't need any forensic accounting

But a less confrontational tone and dare I say it, 'thanks' might not have gone a miss

Oh and a final point on PR, there was plenty of posting and updating at the outset, then fuck all for over a week amid word that the boys were on the trot buckshee, no wonder people have called foul

I've said my bit and paid my dues, and all's well that ends well if the lads are home

To clear up on the discussion lets set the record straight.

First of all, before you make claim of fraud which essentially is what you are pointing the finger at - make sure you have all of the facts in front of you.

If the previous update on the Just Giving wasn't clear enough "Hi all, just to keep you updated the 5 have been released WITH having to pay fines".

All 5 of the boys who were kept over there were released and had to pay substantial fees & fines.

If you have not seen the update on the page this morning this is broken down as follows.

Fine - £8000.00pp
Solicitor Fees - £5000.00pp

And after all of this 1 of the boys is currently STILL in Zagreb after catching COVID-19 whilst inside.

Before spreading rumours and making acquisitions, make sure you have all the information. Especially before trying to out people on twitter like Wonderkid tried to this morning and was quickly shut down. I understand peoples concerns on where the money is going and wanting transparency and any questions you have I'm comfortable with answering. I have also messaged Epsom privately to get in contact with me to clear a few things up if need be.

From their mates last week, from posts on here, the various FB groups etc.

Then you only have to look down a couple of posts down on this thread to see that he posted an update this morning (that charleyfarley posted in here) saying they’d been released without charge, only to delete that and say they still needed the money because they paid the fine - yet every other post he made is still there.

Where have you heard that they were released without charge?

I heard back this morning from Joe Braden that he would update the page with latest status, which he has now done.

Absolute bollocks. They’ve been making it well known they were released without charge, even said so earlier, and are now suddenly saying they took the guilty charge and paid the fine?

This whole thing stinks

Hi all, just to let you know the boys have now been released with a guilty plea and were handed fines of 8k each + the 5k solicitor fees. I am going to keep the page running for a while as a nice gesture to the families who have been badly financially impacted from this and if anyone would still like to donate to help the families out they can. Thanks.

Joe Braden

Hi all, just to keep you updated the 5 have been released with having to pay the fines but I am going to keep the JustGiving going as the families have been financially impacted by this big time. If you wish to donate towards helping them out still you can. Cheers.

I donated myself, but would like to second AKA Ernies opinion that the money should be donated to the Isla Fund to help that child in her journey.

And the reason for keeping it open to support the family, is a very flimsy rock to be standing on.

Glad to hear the lads are in the clear but this is a significant amount of money.

John thanks for that mate, certainly puts it in perspective.
Although i donated and have clearly been mugged off i certainly dont need it back but would certsinly insist every penny raised goes to the isla fund

That’s absolutely disgraceful. The whole purpose of the ‘appeal’ has been rendered moot by them being released without charge.

Yeah, they’ll have incurred some costs on flights home and hotels - but, do you know what, don’t behave like a cunt in a foreign country and get nicked then.

And before anyone says “they’re just innocent boys, in the wrong place at the wrong time” - get in the fucking sea. I had the misfortune of sitting by their dickhead mates on the train up to Leeds on Saturday, all having a big old laugh about it, bragging about what they got up to.

The fund may have been set up with the best intentions, but now it’s just a swindle and mugging people off.

Close it down and refund everyone, it’s the only decent thing to do

Wonderkid 11:49 Thu Sep 30
Re: Six West Ham fans left behind in Zagreb - WHO posters please read - Link added
Not sure I like where this is going tbh.

They were released without fines but the family's still want some dough.
